Service Center

The mission of the Service Center is to improve student achievement by supporting teaching and learning in the classroom.  Our goal is to strive for 100% of our facilities to be safe, clean, and appropriate to support learning.   This is accomplished by providing quality services, effective and efficient use of resources, and a clean, safe and healthy environment that enhances the student's ability to learn. 

The Service Center is comprised of the Maintenance Department, Grounds Department, and Custodial Services.  The technicians and staff serve the needs of all twelve District schools, the Central Kitchen, and the Richard S. Kirkendall Education Center.

The Maintenance staff handles issues related to plumbing, electrical, doors, locks, alarms, bells, and general classroom repair.  There are seven technicians on the Maintenance Staff with more than 58 years of experience with the District.

A Grounds crew also operates out of the Service Center.  They not only handle the weeding, trimming, landscaping, and irrigation of all sites, but they also manage the preparation of fields and tracks for sports activities at all grade levels.  The seven Grounds team members have more than 66 years of expertise with CUSD.

In addition to Grounds and Maintenance, the Service Center manages the site custodians.  Custodial work is coordinated by the Service Center ensuring that schools are consistently clean and ready for students each day. 

The Service Center is located on the same property as the Richard S. Kirkendall Education Center at 170 W. San Jose Avenue in Claremont.  By having both the Education Center and the Service Center at the same location operations are streamlined resulting in improved efficiency.

To request the use of a school facility or athletic field, print out the Facilities Use Form and turn it into the desired school site.  Usage fees may apply.

As of January 1, 2014, to comply with California Assembly Bill AB 1565, Claremont Unified School District requires General Contractors and Subcontractors to be pre-qualified on all Bond Construction Contracts.  Claremont School District also requires pre-qualification on all CUPCCAA Construction Contracts.

To become pre-qualified, applications must be submitted to PQBids.com.  PQBids is an easy to use web-based application that streamlines the new Department of Industrial Relations pre-qualification process.  Please follow the simple instructions below:

1.  Click here to sign-up online as an AB 2031 and a CUPCCAA contractor.

2. Enter the require information.

3. Submit your pre-qualification applications.

4. PQBids will contact you if more information is necessary to complete the process.

5.  You will be notified of your approval via email.
