Meeting the Needs of Claremont Families

Available Child Development Programs for children from Preschool through 6th grade:

The Claremont Unified School District has successfully operated a Child Development Program for over 25 years. Our experienced staff provides a balanced selection of fun and enriching activities which include supervised outdoor play and organized games, art, language, music, cooking, math, science, dramatic arts, computers, field trips and nutritional snacks.

Due to limited enrollment in some of the Child Development Programs, it is suggested that parents contact the Child Development Office immediately to obtain information about the registration process. School Age Child Care: Best Learning After School Time (BLAST) and the After School Community Education and Safety (ASES) Programs

The district's School Age Child Care - BLAST program is self-supported. Parents pay tuition fees to cover all the costs incurred for this school age child care service. Fees range from an amount to cover before school care only to an amount to cover before and after school care. The program provides care from 7:00 a.m. until school begins and again after school until 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday at all seven elementary school sites. BLAST is available for children enrolled in Transitional Kindergarten through 6th grade on all regular school days. A full day program is offered at selected school sites from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. during winter recess, spring break, and summer vacation. Seasonal programs are contingent upon enrollment and are not a guaranteed offering. 

Children who attend Vista Del Valle Elementary School may enroll in the district's ASES program. ASES is an  After School Safety and Education program that provides after school care for children in Kindergarten to 6th grade from dismissal time until 6:00 p.m. Families attending the ASES program at Vista pay a monthly family   fee of $25. ASES students are required to attend the program Monday through Friday from the end of school until 6:00 p.m. 

State Preschool Programs (Nationally Accredited through NAEYC)

The State Preschools provide a comprehensive Kindergarten Readiness program to children who are three and four years of age. This state subsidized program is designed to provide preschool services to income eligible families free of charge. Children entering the State Preschool Program must be 3 or 4 years of age by September 1st of the enrolling year, fully potty-trained and up-to-date on their immunizations.

The State Preschool classes are located at Sumner / Danbury Elementary School and Vista del Valle Elementary School. . State preschool classes are three (3) hours long are offered in the morning or early afternoon on all regular school days.A daily snack is provided.
