In November 2022, Claremont residents had the opportunity to vote for one Board Member who lived in their district (Trustee-Area Map). This process replaced the system of at-large district-wide elections in which voters had the ability to vote for all Board of Education members.
As the policy-making body for the school district, the Board is charged with providing the best possible education for the children of the Claremont Unified School District.
Student representatives are selected from both Claremont High School and San Antonio High School to function as members of the Board of Education. A student Board member may cast advisory votes on all matters except those subject to closed-session discussion. Student Board Members are eligible to serve a full-year term.
