Beth Bingham, D. Min.
Beth Bingham is returning for her second term on the Claremont Board of Education, having served from 2007-2011 when she was clerk, vice-president and president. Previous to her board service, she was active in the District as Chair of the 2004 Budget Advisory committee, Chair of the Claremont Youth Partnership, and President of the Claremont Coordinating Council. Her son, Teddy attended Condit Elementary School, El Roble Intermediate School, and graduated from Claremont High School in 2007. She has also volunteered as a district parent including classroom assistant, parking attendant, member of the Baseball Booster Club and 2007 Grad Night chaperone.
Beth received her B.A. with honors from Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, Iowa; her Master of Arts in Religion from Yale Divinity School; and her Doctor of Ministry from Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary. She has been a minister and hospital chaplain in Wisconsin, Alaska, and California, and is presently the Senior Minister of Pilgrim Congregational Church in Pomona. She has lived in Claremont since 1999. She has served as a board member and President of the Pomona Valley YMCA and the Fairplex Child Development Center, and board member and vice president of the Pomona Cemetery Association. She is a member of the Los Angeles County Fair Association, the League of Women Voters and the Pomona Valley Hospital Council of Patient and Family Advisors. She is also a trustee of Piedmont College in Demorest, Georgia where she received an honorary Doctorate.
Her husband Paul passed away in 2011. Her son Ted is presently a 3rd year law student at UCLA. She also has two stepsons, Jason and Paul Jr.
