Welcome to the Child Development Program for the Claremont Unified School District. We were established in the early 1980’s to meet the growing child care needs of Claremont families with elementary school age students. During the last 30 years, the Child Development Department has expanded campus and community services to provide safe, supportive and active learning environments for children from Preschool through 6th grade. Programs include: State Preschool; After School Community Education and Safety (ACES); Best Learning After School Time (BLAST); and Summer Day Camp.
- California State Preschool Programs are offered in morning or afternoon sessions at the Vista and Sumner-Danbury campuses.
- The After School Community Education and Safety Program (ACES) is offered to students attending Vista del Valle Elementary from dismissal until 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Due to a limited number of spaces, enrollment is on a first come basis.
- The fee-based School Age Child Care BLAST program is available at six of the seven elementary sites. The program is available for families from 7:00 am until 6:00 pm Monday through Friday; closed all legal holidays.
Each program is designed to meet the developmental needs of the children in a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment.
